Ahl Beach

Shallow water, sandy banks and plenty of birdlife. The water on both sides of the ferry port is shallow and warm, with large sandy islands that appear at low tide.

The beaches attract large numbers of birds, so there is always something to look at and a good opportunity for children to build sand castles.

Just west of the pier where the wind turbines stand, the water is deeper and fresher. Here the sandy bottom alternates with clay, rocks and seaweed - just perfect for snorkeling. Around the other side of Ahl Hage the bottom is covered in fine sand. Ahl Hage north beach is special. To the west lies an oak forest; to the east a beautiful grass meadow, while the beach itself is sandy with shallow water.
