Queen Margrethe’s soldiers at Fredensborg Palace

The changing of the guards and the drums and fifes corps

Queen Margrethe usually resides at Fredensborg Palace from April till the end of November. During this time a detachment of the lifeguards is stationed there, and the changing of the guards with music each day at noon is a festive sight. You may also experience the drums and fifes corps, marching through Fredensborg to land in front of the palace at noon each Thursday. Here they give a concert, and the queen often comes out and thanks them for the music.
