This church is the most peculiar of the village churches in the area because the building was a monastery for Benedictine nuns in 400 years, and after another 400 years is was used as a church residence.
The room that is the nave today is the original monastery, and where the dining hall, the chapter house and the dormitories were. At that time the room was in two stories and to day there can still be seen remains from the large wooden beams in the sides of the room.
These beams carried the separation between the two floors, and the areas that were left free in the upper part of the southern wall are remains of the resident’s closets that were built into the walls.
