The Estate of Lerchenborg

Is not open for tourists.

Preserved 1918, 1954, 1971 og 1986.

The Estate of Lerchenborg was built in 1743-53 by the general Christian Lerche.

The main building, the farm buildings and the park are laid out to meet the strict requirements of the baroque regarding symmetry, forming a harmonious architectural whole that is unique in Denmark.

But the following rococo period has left its mark on all the interior decorations - beautiful rooms, family portraits and white stucco reliefs.

The author, Hans Christian Andersen, was staying at the castle in 1862.
