Voergård Slot - Flauenskjold

Voergård Castle is Vendsyssel‘s most important castle and one of Denmark‘s most beautiful Renaissance buildings.
Like Sæbygård Castle and many other manor houses in the region, Voergård belonged to Børglum Abbey until the Reformation.

The castle today is an independent institution and fitted out as a museum. It was decorated and furnished by its last owner,  Count Oberbech-Clausen, and is home to the country‘s biggest private art collection with works by Goya, Rubens and Raphael, in addition to Napoleon‘s dinnerware and precious Ming vases.

Every summer Voergård takes a leap back in time to the Middle Ages and is populated by knights, clerics, farmers and pedlars. Medieval Days at Voergård are an exciting experience for young and old alike. In December there are Christmas events at the castle.

Medieval Days: 11.07-19.07 (both days incl.) at 10.00-17.00
Christmas at Castle: 04.12 - 06.12  at 10.00-16.00
